Terms of service

Portolan is a hosted voyage management system: estimates, fixtures, voyage operations, laytime and demurrage, invoicing and reporting, with a web application, a REST API and an MCP server.

Your organisation decides who gets an account and which role they hold. Keep passwords and API keys confidential; actions taken with your credentials are attributed to you in the audit log.

Your organisation owns the data it puts into Portolan. We use it only to provide the service, and you can export it at any time through the application or the API.

Do not use the service to break the law, to attempt access to other customers' data, or to place unreasonable load on it. Automated access goes through the API and MCP server with an API key.

Portolan calculates freight, laytime, demurrage and voyage results from the data and charter party terms you enter. Check the results against your contracts before relying on them commercially.
